Yoga and mindfulness can help anyone improve body awareness and mental focus. Meditation and breathing techniques bring calm and self-awareness.
During the winter months, our bodies and minds have a natural desire to slow down and rest. Restorative poses use props and blankets to bring the pose to you. We find comfort and relaxation in the pose rather than doing the pose. This allows the nervous system to move into rest and digest helping release deeply held tensions from the body. These are essential practices for daily living and optimal well-being.
The classes are 1 hour and 15 minutes in length. This allows for 45 minutes of gentle Hatha yoga followed by 30 minutes of restorative poses. To end the class there will be a 10 minute savasana (relaxation).
